With Microsoft Copilot Studio, businesses can design and configure AI agents to automate tasks, retrieve information, and execute workflows across their systems.
These agents reduce manual effort and enable teams to focus on more complex and strategic priorities. For example, one agent might conduct research, while another focuses on data analysis. After connecting with Simplicity's Lead Agent Builder, Katarina (Kat) Kemner, we're passing along valuable insights from hands-on agent development. We answer some of the common questions organizations are asking about Microsoft Copilot Agents.

Microsoft Copilot agents can answer incorrectly for a variety of reasons, depending on the specific agent and how it’s configured.
According to Microsoft, two causes include (but are not limited to) generative answers containing mistakes, how an agent’s knowledge sources are set up, and how clearly its instructions are defined. Simplicity’s agent-building pre-work process is designed to address these commonalities before implementation.

Microsoft Copilot can stop working as expected for several reasons, depending on the agent, channel, and environment configuration. Microsoft Learn documents issues related to quotas and capacity limits, authentication, unpublished changes, and knowledge sources that are not yet ready for use in responses. Microsoft Learn also notes that model changes can affect agent behavior over time and may disrupt expected results if existing instructions no longer perform as intended.
Simplicity offers agent maintenance services to regularly review how agents are working and make adjustments when needed.

Microsoft Copilot Agents can behave differently on the same question for several reasons. Aside from ambiguous instructions, differences can happen when conversation context differs, or when the agent selects different topics, tools, other agents, or knowledge sources to respond. Additionally, some response variation can occur with Generative AI. Understanding how agents operate helps set more accurate expectations for how they may respond. Simplicity offers Agent Training and Adoption programs to help teams use agents more effectively.
